Overview
The Corsair 970 is a true performance cruiser, designed for sailors who want offshore-capable trimaran speed paired with genuine live-aboard comfort. As the flagship of Corsair’s cruising-oriented trimaran range, the 970 delivers a refined balance of stability, safety, and sailing performance in a folding, trailerable platform.
Designed by Perus Yacht Design, the 970 features high-volume, wave-piercing floats and Corsair’s advanced folding beam system, producing exceptional righting moment and confidence under sail. The powerful trimaran hull form allows the 970 to maintain speed with ease while remaining predictable and forgiving across varying sea states. A well-protected cockpit provides comfortable seating, secure movement underway, and efficient sail handling for short-handed crews.
Below deck, the 970 sets itself apart with a spacious and thoughtfully designed interior that rivals much larger monohulls. The layout includes a full galley, enclosed head, generous berths, and ample storage, making the boat well suited for extended cruising, coastal passagemaking, and longer stays aboard. With its ability to fold for transport and storage, the Corsair 970 offers sailors a rare opportunity to enjoy serious cruising comfort without giving up the freedom and performance of a trimaran.
