1979 Newick Native
ABOUT THIS BOAT
Vaite is a beautifully refitted and carefully maintained Newick Native 38, designed by Dick Newick, whose lightweight performance trimarans helped shape modern multihull sailing.
She spent her life sailing the fresh waters of the Great Lakes before moving south in October 2025, and is currently listed from Hague, Virginia near Coles Point Marina. Her recent 2,000-mile cruise from New England to the Florida Keys and back speaks to the boat's capability, reliability, and range.
With an extensive 2010-2025 refit history, updated sails and rigging, a 2025 Suzuki outboard, and practical cruising gear, Vaite is a rare opportunity for sailors looking for a fast, proven trimaran suited to the Bahamas, Caribbean, or ambitious coastal passages.
