Rick has been active and engaged in the recreational marine industry for over 50 years.

He started as a sailmaker in the mid 1970s, a sail designer and rigger in the 1980s and

1990s and a yacht broker since 1999. Rick has been involved with multihull sailing

since the “Hobie craze” of the 1970s and worked closely with Randy Smyth, Eric Arens

and Steve Marsh when the venerable F-27 design was turbo-charged with a bow sprit,

screecher and asymmetrical spinnakers soon after the design was launched in the mid

1980s. He sailed with Don Wigston, Windcraft’s founder, in the mid-1990s winning

national titles in the F-28 and F-31 classes with loyal customers as well as with Steve

Marsh on various Corsair designs . Rick attended the Seawind Catamaran/Corsair

Trimaran’s 30 th Anniversary celebration in Sydney, Australia in 2015 and was able to

meet and race with Australian catamaran and trimaran teams at that time.

Rick’s tenure as a sailmaker, a sail designer, a rigger and yacht broker have all

prepared him to be a knowledgeable consultant and team member of the Windcraft

Team today.
